Two pairs of ANY kind does NOT beat a Three of a Kind. Two Pairs beat One Pair and Three of a Kind beat any Two Pair hand. A pair of aces beats two aces if the pair of aces has the higher kicker, ie. a pair of aces with a king beats two aces with.

Top pair is a poker hand combination 'pair', which was made by matching the highest card on the board and one of the pocket cards of the player.
